Rev. Kenneth M. Snyder Obituary

The Rev. Kenneth M. Snyder, of Wailea, Maui, passed away peacefully at home on April 27, 2012. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, May 12, at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Wailuku. Visitation will be at 9:30am with a service at 10:30am. Lunch and sharing will follow in the Parish Hall. There will be a memorial service at St. Mark’s Cathedral in Seattle, WA at a later date. Father Snyder served missions and parishes in the Dioceses of Spokane, WA; Dallas, TX; and Olympia, WA. He also served on the Bishops’ staffs in Dallas and Seattle. For many years, he devoted faithful and loving service to the National Network of Episcopal Clergy Associations (NNECA) advocating for collegiality, education, and self-care among the clergy. Kenneth’s life was filled with caring and love for his family, friends, and The Church. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Charlesta Snyder; four daughters: Karen (Mark) Roberts, Barbara Snyder, Rebecca Alexander, Susan (Greg) Briggs; ten grandchildren: Ian Alexander, Justin (Julie) Alexander, Andrea (Bob) Roberts, Malia Alexander, Kira Roberts, Jenna Wilson, Tessa (Chris Dubois) Wartchow (first great-granddaughter on the way), Taylor Briggs, Erik Roberts, Jordan Briggs; his caregivers: Jackie Brock, Trisha Wilstead, Diane Jones, Robin White, and other caring friends. Ken also has many loving family members on the East Coast. Should friends desire, donations may be made in The Rev. Kenneth Snyder’s name to Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Wailuku, NNECA (nneca.org), or a charity of your choice.
