My deepest condolences to Derek's family and friends. He was a terrific young man. His loss is unimaginable. When I think of him, I see the big smile he always brightened the Teen Center with. I always bragged about Derek as the kid that volunteered when he noticed something that need to be done and would even put his gaming aside with a smile if he was asked to help out. I remember how patient he would be with younger kids that needed a few pointers or a slower pace to do what he did so expertly. Thanks for the many late night memories of Derek and his buddies keeping the place rockin. We will always remember his friendly smiling ways.

Nonie I am so sorry for the loss of your dear son! He was my son's, Philip's best friend here in Orofino! I can't imagine what you must be going through right now. I am truly sorry! Derek was a great friend and was always so polite when he visited our home. Philip is in Oregon, in Astoria at the Job Corps there, I am sure he will be so upset to hear of Derek's passing. Again I would like to tell you I am truly sorry and am here if you need a shoulder! You know me, I am the lady at the front desk at Riverside Water and Sewer...if you need anything, and I mean anything please let us know! Derek was a good friend to Philip!
