Obituary for Douglas Lee Hubbard

Douglas Lee Hubbard, 44, Lewiston

Douglas Lee Hubbard passed away September 3, 2012 in Orofino. He was 44.
Doug was born on April 30, 1968 in Clarkston to Cheryl (Krug) and Henry Hubbard. He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1986 and attended North Idaho College.
Doug lived in Lewiston his entire life. He worked for several construction companies in the valley and had a talent for finishing work. For the last 20 years, he worked for Baldwin Building Company, where he and Toby Baldwin spent many hours together (but still had to call each other every night).
He loved sports, anything that involved a ball. He was an outstanding bowler and placed in several local and state tournaments. He had a passion for baseball and was a member of many great Lewiston High School and American Legion teams. One of his proudest moments (and a story he loved to tell), was pitching a perfect gameā€”even though his normal position was playing infield. He also loved having barbecues at his house, so he could show off his cooking skills.
But above all, he was a family man and outdoorsman. Most important to him was spending time with his friends and family, his fiancee Tara, and especially his kids. He loved being with them and sharing his love for fishing, hunting, camping or just getting out to enjoy the mountains, lakes, and streams of Idaho.
Survivors include his fiancee Tara Sperry of Lewiston; his mother Cheryl Hubbard of Lewiston; his father Henry Hubbard of Snohomish, WA, two daughters Bailey Hubbard and Lexi Hubbard both of Lewiston; a son Caleb Hubbard of Lewiston; a sister Marie Baldwin (Tim) of Boise; his grandmother Rose Krug of Lewiston; his children's mother Amanda Pollock of Lewiston and many special nieces, nephews, in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at Orchards Community Church, Saturday, September 8th at 2:00 PM with pastor Bill Hayne officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the Hubbard Family Memorial, Lewis Clark Credit Union, 1626 17th St., Lewiston, ID 83501.
