Eunice McDowell passed away March 5, 2012. Eunice had been a resident at the Lewiston Veterans Home since 2010. She was 92 years old.
Eunice was born to Ida and Harry Henderson in Hardin, Montana. She lived and attended school Kendrick, Idaho.
Eunice married Cecil Spekker, they had a son Norman. This marriage ended in divorce. At the beginning of World War II, Eunice went to work in the Box Factory at Potlatch Forest Inc.
Eunice married Herbert McDowell on December 8, 1945 and they made their home in Lewiston, Idaho. They were married for 61 years.
Eunice was preceded in death by her husband Herbert, her five sisters; Ethel, Carrie, Grace, Pauline, and June and her two brothers Craig and James.
She is survived by her sister Anne Trenkle, her six sons and their spouses; Norman and Stella Spekker, Michael and Sally McDowell, Steven and Carol McDowell, Harvey McDowell, David McDowell, and Kelly McDowell, her daughter Kathy and husband Jim Ruark, and eighteen grandchildren and numerous great grand children.
The family would like to thank the Lewiston Idaho State Veterans Home for the support, attention and compassion shown to Eunice while in their care. Memorial donations are suggested to the Idaho State Veterans Home or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Malcom’s Brower-Wann Funeral Home.
