F. Ray Kennelly, Lieutenant, C.F.D., retired, 85, September 18, 2017, of Crestwood, formerly of Mt. Greenwood, originally of Canaryville, beloved husband of Marilyn Moynihan Kennelly, nee St. Clair and the late Frances Kennelly, nee Willner; dear stepfather of Robert Moynihan and the late Thomas Moynihan; devoted son of the late Frank and Anna Moore Kenneally; fond brother and brother in law, preceded in death by Rita (Harry) Walsh, Lorraine (Stan) Gay, Charles Baxtrom and Millard (Carol) Baxtrom; loving uncle and great uncle of many. Veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean War. Firefighter for 33 years with the Chicago Fire Department, having spent most of his years at Engine 59 Stock Yards, Engine 29 Bridgeport, and Engine 15 Ashburn. Member of Chicago Fire Fighters Union Local No. 2, Trustee of Firemen’s Mutual Aid & Benefits Association, Past Commander and lifetime member of Firemen’s Post No. 667 American Legion. Services at CENTRAL CHAPEL, 6158 S. Central Ave., Chicago, IL, where family and friends will gather on Thursday, Sept. 21, from 2 to 8 p.m. Funeral Friday, Sept. 22, Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m., meeting directly, at Incarnation Church, 5757 W. 127th St., Palos Heights, IL. Rev. John McNalis, C.F.D. Chaplain, officiating. Interment with military honors at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Kennelly Family Lot.
