McDonald, Sr., 90, Jan. 23, 2011, resident of the Southwest side of Chicago-Clearing neighborhood for 56 years, preceded in death by beloved wife of 56 years, Marguerite “Doll”, nee Hansen, who died in 2001. Devoted father of Robert T. (Karen) McDonald, Jr., James (Patty) McDonald and Judith (Timothy) Forrest; loving grandfather of Tracy, Heather, Shannon, Robert III, Brooke, Ian, Ryan, Christina, and Margaret; fond great grandfather of Quincy, James, Martin, Theodore, Henry, and Brady; dear brother of Rita (late John) Nugent, and preceded in death by brothers and sisters in law: Edward (Florence), James (Pearl), and Richard (Helen) McDonald. Veteran of U.S. Navy having served in World War II. Retired member of Local 134, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Lived a long and fulfilled life marred by only one thing: he was a die hard Cubs fan. Resting at Central Chapel, 6158 S. Central Ave., Chicago, on Tuesday from 2 to 9 p.m. Funeral Wednesday, 8:45 a..m, at chapel, to St. Symphorosa Church, 6135 S. Austin Ave., Chicago.
