Eileen Moynihan DeMayo, 57, June 29, 2014, of Dyer, IN, formerly of LaverneCA, and South Holland, IL, beloved wife of Paul L. DeMayo; cherished daughter of the late William F. and Danette F. Cotter Moynihan; loving sister of Pat (Kevin) Botma, Maryann Moynihan and James T. (Kathleen) Moynihan; devoted aunt of Kaitlin (Jon) Chew, Colleen Botma, Meaghan, Madeline, and Erin Moynihan. After miraculously beating Hodgkin Disease as a teenager, Eileen went on to devote her entire professional life as a nurse specializing in transplants. She was a dedicated and much respected staff member of Northwestern Memorial Hospital for over 16 years. Eileen grew up in South Holland, graduated from St. Jude School, Thornridge High School -Class of 1974, Little Company of Mary School of Nursing, and received her nusring degree from the University of Phoenix. Eileen battled cancer and pulmonary disease for many years while never ceasing to serve as a nurse. She is now at rest. In keeping with Eileen’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and, a world traveler having visited most continents, her cremains will be scattered on her favorite place on earth, Laguna Beach, California. A Celebration of Life for family and friends is being planned.
