Kathleen E. Simon Calhoun, 86, December 3, 2013, lifetime Chicagoan, resident of downtown Chicago. She was survived by her beloved sister June M. Simon. Preceded in death by beloved parents, William F. and Linda Kelly Simon, Sr., and beloved brother, Lieutenant William F. Simon Jr., U.S.A.F., of the United States Air Force. Loved by all who met her for she brought laughter and joy to our souls. Katie was a member of the National Honor Society in High School and studied at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago. A talented artist, Katie was a Graphic Artist for the Sun Times for over 30 years, and was known for her beautiful artwork and crafts as well as her Avon sales and gifts. Katie was also one of the “original settlers” of Marina City on State Street in Chicago. Family and Friends will gather at Holy Name Cathedral, 731 N.
