Obituary for Virginia A. Grosh

Virginia A. “Ginger” Grosh, nee Davis, 54, August 29, 2015, lifelong resident of the south and southwest sides of Chicago, of Clearing neighborhood, formerly of McKinley Park and Brighton Park; dearly beloved wife of 34 years to Gerald J. Grosh; cherished and adoring mother of Joshua and Amanda Grosh; devoted daughter of Mary Jean Davis, nee Purcell, and the late John T. Davis; loving sister of John T. Davis, Jr., Mary Lynn (James) Zvonik, Joseph L. (late Eileen) Davis and James G. Davis; fond daughter in law of Virginia and the late Eugene Grosh; dear sister in law, aunt and friend of many.

Ginger grew up in McKinley Park, worked for 16 years at Midway Shuttle, first as a driver, then as manager of operations. During the 34 year love story/adventure/marriage to Jerry, while working and raising Josh and Amanda they moonlighted as caretaker managers, living above the Kelly-Carroll-Moynihan Funeral Home in Brighton Park and in recent years founded Ginger & Jerry’s Rock & Roll Diner. Although it breaks our hearts, Ginger has embarked the Rock & Roll Diner on the Stairway to Heaven.
