Vito “Tony” Caprio, 90, March 31, 2014, lifetime resident of the Southwest side of Chicago, West Elsdon neighborhood, beloved husband of Mary, nee Bohacek; dear brother of Salvatore Caprio and the late Concetta Holland, Josephine Sciurba and Joseph (Ruth) Caprio; fond brother in law of Beverly Bohacek; loving uncle of Dolores White, Patrick Holland, William Holland, Elaine Bridges, Celia Sciurba and Barbara Stark; great uncle of many and close friend of Herminio Garcia. In the shoe business his entire life, specializing in orthopedic foot care, Tony was the founder and proud owner of Caprio’s Shoes, which was in business at 63rd & Pulaski, from 1970 until 2014. Founding Board member of Richard J. Daley College, and also, an avid skater. Resting at CENTRAL CHAPEL, 6158 S. Central Ave., Chicago, on Thursday, April 3, from 2 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service Friday, April 4, at 11 a.m. Rev. Thomas Mescall, of St. Adrian Church, officiating. Burial St. Mary Cemetery.
