William J. “Billy” Deering, 57, of Monee, IL, died peacefully at home on August 18, 2017. Best Friend of 39 yrs and one and only true love of 37 years to beloved wife, Leslie Mouser Deering, who were married on August 23, 1980, in Chicago. Devoted father and best friend to his four children especially his special needs son Jacob; Best and very proud Dad to Joshua William (Mallory Lyall) Deering, Catherine Ann Deering, Kimberly Marie Deering, and Jacob Michael Deering. Loving" Pop-Pop" to Phoenix Joseph and Charlie Laine. Devoted and loving son of the late Maurice Deering and Elaine Sarlas Deering. Loving son in law of the late Lyman Mouser and Evonne Milos Mouser. Loving brother to Maureen (John) Coffman, Maurice Deering, III, Kevin (Betty) Deering, the late Georgiann Spencer, Lorraine (late Robert) Dziadon, Elaine (late Daniel) Zdunek, Larry (Penny) Deering, Kathy (Brian) Knutson, Patrick (Diane) Deering, Michael (Donielle) Deering and the late Jimmy (Mary) Deering. Loving brother in law to Allison (Michael) Mihavics, Joslyn Reyes, and Jennifer (Thomas) Gaskin. Proud Godfather of Bridget, Sheamus and Claire. Proud Uncle to 53 wonderful nieces and nephews, and Great Uncle to 28 grand nieces and nephews. Billy was a graduate of St. Barnabas School, Class of 1974, Morgan Park High School, Class of 1978, and Moraine Valley Community College with an Associate Degree. Proud Member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 134. Billy was a very happy and content human being whom loved doing for others. He was a faithful son of Jesus Christ. He loved reading his Bible and witnessing through his actions his love of Jesus Christ. His favorite scripture verse was Psalm 46:10, “Be still and know that I am God.” Family and friends will gather on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at FAITH CHURCH, 100 81st Avenue, Dyer, IN, from 9 a.m. until time of memorial service at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to The Reflector's Special Needs Ministry at Faith Church, 100 81st Avenue, Dyer, IN 46311, www.wearefaith.org, greatly appreciated.
