Barbara Bohannon

Barbara Bohannon, 77, of Pittsburg went to be with her Lord and Savior at 10:41 a.m., Monday, February 24, 2020. Barbara was born March 12, 1942 in Galatia to Clarence and Ollie Bell (West) Otterson. She married Dorsey Bohannon on October 13, 1972 in Woodstock, Illinois. He preceded her on August 25, 2009. Barbara was a retired insurance agent. She attended Whiteash Free Will Baptist Church, where she played the piano for several years. She enjoyed reading and playing the piano. She was a member of the Eastern Star Survivors include her daughter, Belinda (Kevin) Scrantz of Breux Bridge, LA; sons, Steven Smith of Gordon, GA; Richard (Delila) Smith of Converse, LA; brothers, Lloyd (Gloria) Otterson of West Frankfort; George (Glenda) Otterson of Evansville, IN; Claude (Kimberly) Otterson of Benton; companion, Ronald Cullum of Pittsburg; best friend, Darlene Harris of Marion; cousin, Charlene West Adams of West Frankfort. She leaves behind, ten grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by, her parents, husband, and sister, Patricia Waggoner. Celebration of life service will be at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, February 28, 2020, at Whiteash Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Andy Lee officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the church. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Masonic Cemetery in Metropolis.
