Judith Carol Bernardo, 77 of Herrin passed away Saturday, December 21, 2019, at Integrity Healthcare in Marion. Judy was born April 12, 1942, in Minnesota to Clarence Fredrick and Lillian Beatrice (Lusian) Shmitka. Judy worked as a cashier for many years. She was of Christian faith. Judy is survived by her daughter, Vicki Vallese of Herrin; two sons, Rick Vallese Jr. of Reno, NV and Michael Bernardo of Round Rock, TX; five grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan, and Morgan Vallese; Katie and Sammy Goot. She is also survived by her brother, James Shmitka of Los Angeles, CA. She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother Richard Shmitka. In honor of her request, she was cremated.
