She was born January 11, 1931 in Pierre, SD, the daughter of the late Dean Badger and Katherene (Coleman) Badger Juso.

Besides her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Newman; and two children: Judy Thorpe and Ronald Newman.

Surviving are her son, Randy (Chris) Newman of Shiloh, IL; four grandchildren: Joshua (Kayla) Thorpe of Cavalier, ND, Kayla Thorpe of W. Fargo, ND, Nathan (Jill) Newman of Festus, MO and Andrew (Ann Rule) Newman of Belleville, IL; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters: Eileen (Robert) Schurger of Rapid City, SD and Delores (Ronald) Alstad of Creal Springs, IL; her brother-in-law, Robert (Esther) Newman of Salida, CO; and a son-in-law, David (Amy) Thorpe of Moorehead, MN.

Donna graduated from Redfield, SD High School, where she met the love of her life, Keith Newman. They moved to Fergus Falls, MN to raise their family and spent endless summers on Jewett Lake enjoying the lake life with family and friends. Donna spent her later years in Bonita Springs, FL before relocating to Illinois to be closer to family.

She will be remembered as being the best Grandma ever. She could out-fish anyone and proved her skills by hauling the whole family to Alaska to catch salmon. Family was always first in Donna’s life and her faith was unwavering. She was a gracious hostess, cook, Bridge player, gardener and an avid reader.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Minnesota at a later date.
