Carole Lu Morgan, 75, of Murphysboro, passed away at 7:36 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at her residence in Murphysboro. Carole was born on June 2, 1941, in Murphysboro, Illinois, to James Penrod and Marie (Robinson) Penrod. She had her cosmetology degree and worked as a hairdresser in California. Mrs. Morgan liked to make jewelry and make crafts, but she especially liked to paint. Carole married Marion K. Morgan on July 2, 1960, in Murphysboro, and he preceded her in death on May 28, 2013. She is survived by two sons Scott Morgan and his wife Gloria and Philip Morgan, all of Murphysboro; three grandchildren Brandi Renee Quinn, Caitlin Sue Riggle, and Dorothy Marie Morgan; three great grandchildren; and one sister Brenda Lipe of Murphysboro.
