Cheryl Tolbert-True Obituary

Cheryl Lynne Tolbert-True, age 54, passed away at 2:02 a.m. on Sunday, June 16, 2019, due to the result of injuries from an automobile accident on Interstate 55, north of Farmersville, Illinois. Cheryl was born on August 1, 1964, in Murphysboro, Illinois to Randall L. Tolbert and Patricia (Burke) Tolbert Prost. Cheryl was a florist and had worked with her mother and later also owned The Flower Box in Carbondale. She was a member of the FTD Association. She had also worked as a sales manager. Ms. True was a member of Murdale Baptist Church in Carbondale, where she was also a Sunday School Teacher. She was very active in the DeSoto School District, especially while her daughters were growing up serving as PTO President and coach, but her greatest role was MOM. She was a Home Interior Representative and had been working to get her degree in Interior Design. Cheryl is survived by three daughters Jennie Elizabeth True of Bloomington, Casie Nicole True of St. Louis, MO, and Emilie Morgan True of Maryville; her mother and step father Patricia and Wally Prost of Carbondale; her brother and sister in law Jeffrey and Mary Ellen Tolbert of Manhattan, IL and their family Jacob, Julia, and Jillian; her step sister Terri Prost of Brookhaven, GA; her step brother Joe Prost and his daughter Brittany May; her step brother in law Ed Gresham of Snellville, GA and family Laura (Chris) Brown and Lisa Gresham; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by one step sister Kimberly Gresham, her father, and her grandparents including Geneva "Nanny" Endres and John and Arnistine Tolbert. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at Murdale Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Hicks officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
