Kathryn "Katie" Hanson

Kathryn "Katie" Jo Hanson, 74, of Murphysboro, passed away at 6:48 p.m. Sunday, January 29, 2012, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Illinois. Kathryn was born on January 10, 1938, in Gorham, Illinois, to Helen Louise (Bilderback) and Virgil Easton. Her mother married Wiley Pate, who raised her as his child. Katie graduated from Murphysboro High School in 1956. She attended Nurse's Training at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton, IL, and then joined the U.S. Navy and completed boot camp at Great Lakes Naval Academy and was discharged in December of 1958. She worked until its closing at the Harts Bread Store in Murphysboro. After her marriage to Ralph Jedamsky, they moved to Arizona from 1985 to 2001, and she worked for the City of Phoenix Water Department in maps and property. Mrs. Hanson was a member of the Crain Baptist Church. She is survived by three daughters Marsha (Welborn) Gottlieb and her husband Randy Gottlieb of Murphysboro, Donna (Hanson) Conder and her husband Don Conder of Waller, TX, and Angela (Hanson) Greenrod and her husband Greg Greenrod of DeSoto; eleven grandchildren Heidi Kirchgestner of Springfield, Jason Gottlieb of Murphysboro, Jamie Johnson of Steeleville, Craig Parkin of NC, Hannah Gottlieb of Fort Leonardwood, MO, Kevin Gottlieb of Murphysboro, Laura Ball of Winchester, TN, Jennifer Conder of DeSoto, Donald Wright of Cambria, Jeremiah Bullar and his fiancee Andrea VanZandt of DeSoto, and Taylor Greenrod of Pittsburg; ten great grandchildren Gryphon, Hailey, Trevor, Gabe, Aaron, Jon, Gabe, Haylee, Nevaeh and Kyndal; three sisters and two brothers and their spouses Janet Pate Littlefield, and her husband Allen Littlefield of Gladstone, MO, Matthew William Pate and his wife Anita Pate of Murphysboro, Jim Easton and his wife Margaret Easton and Dorothy "Dot" Schafer, all of Cutler, and Ruby Leteff and her husband David Leteff of St. Amant, LA; and one brother in law Perry Jacoby of Greenfield, IL. She was preceded in death by one brother James Wiley Pate, one sister Helen Jean Pate Jacoby, her father Virgil Easton, step father Wiley Pate, her mother Helen Louise Pate, and her husbands Donald Ray Hanson and Ralph Herman Jedamsky.
