Louise Ihle

B. Louise (Rush) Ihle, 88, of Murphysboro, passed away at 3:48 p.m. Thursday, September 7, 2017, at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro. Louise was the youngest daughter of Herbert and Bertha (Hertz) Rush, and was born on March 30, 1929, south of Marion, Illinois. She married John Jeff Ihle on June 25, 1949, in Murphysboro, and he preceded her in death on October 14, 1994. Louise was the sister of Opal Lee, Martha Deaton, Ruby Hollis, Emma Nehring, Ernestine Hicks, Nellie Ruth Rush, one brother in infancy, and her parents preceded her in death. She graduated from Murphysboro High School and completed one year at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. She worked thirty five years for the Illinois Department of Public Aid. Mrs. Ihle was a member of Murdale Baptist Church in Carbondale. Louise was a lover of animals, especially dogs, and the great outdoors. She was also a member of the Carbondale Art Guild for many years. She is survived by two nephews Paul Hicks and his wife Pat Hicks of Carterville and Gary Nehring and his wife Brenda Nehring of Murphysboro; three nieces Alma Lee Hicks and her husband Herb Hicks of Murphysboro, Shelba Barnes of West Lafayette, IN, and Patricia Ann Nold and her husband Jim Nold of Carterville; and several great and great great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 11, 2017, at Murdale Baptist Church in Carbondale with Rev. Paul Hicks officiating and burial at St. Andrew Cemetery in Murphysboro.
