Patrick "Pat" Falkenburry

Patrick "Pat" Lorne Falkenburry, 49, of Murphysboro, Illinois, passed away at 11:20 a.m. Sunday, November 4, 2012, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Illinois. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 8, 2012, at Pettett Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Voorhees with burial at Crain Cemetery. Patrick was born on August 26, 1963, in Murphysboro, Illinois, to Millard "Jack" Falkenburry, and Lucille (Kinderman) Falkenburry. God had a plan for Pat and part of that plan was to be placed in the care of his long time caregiver, Geneva "June" Manus. Pat often referred to June as "mom". Pat became disabled at the age of 15. He lived every day with the thought of surviving the impossible. One of his favorite pass times was being an avid NASCAR fan. He liked movies, Harley Davidsons, watching birds, and wildlife. He enjoyed visits from his dearest friends George and Mary Gibson of Carbondale. Survivors include four brothers and two sisters Mike and Rhonda Falkenburry, Patricia Falkenburry, Kirk and Dottie Falkenburry, Frank Falkenburry, James and Tracy Falkenburry, and Carolyn Falkenburry; several nieces and nephews; and his other mom Geneva "June" Manus, of Murphysboro. and his secondary family including Lisa and Rick Scarber of Nashville, Patricia and Wayne Cox of Makanda, Robert Mezo of Murphysboro, James and Sue Mezo of Smithton, Stacy and Randy Stark of Murphysboro, and Mark Taylor of Chester. He was preceded in death by one brother John, one sister Melissa, one niece Tonya Falkenburry, and his parents. A special thanks goes to Fresenius Dialysis Center in Carbondale and especially to Dr. Cowart, Dr Kamran, Diana Moreland (PA), and Mary Rosenhower.
