Raymond "Bo" Piquard Obituary

Raymond "Bo" Brooks Piquard, 88, of Murphysboro, passed away at 11:55 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at his residence in Murphysboro. Raymond was born on February 13, 1929, in Murphysboro, to Henry Piquard and Mary (Burkhart) Piquard. He was a member of the District Council # 58 of the Painters and Glaziers Union for seventy two years and he had worked at SIU at Carbondale. He and Carroll Dobber worked together as partners for many years as Dobber and Bo Painters. Mr. Piquard was a member of the St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Murphysboro. He married Doris Yearian on March 3, 1949, in Murphysboro, and she preceded him in death on June 12, 2015. Bo is survived by two daughters and son in laws, Rosemary and Danny Browder and Terrie and Steve Lee, all of Murphysboro; five grandchildren Jason Browder of Murphysboro, Stefanie Wood and her husband Jay Wood of Villa Rica, GA, Brandy (Lee) Dagner and her husband Dwayne Dagner of Sato, Colt Lee and his wife Heather Lee and Trent Lee, all of Murphysboro; seven great grandchildren Kaitlynn Browder and Skyler Maple, both of Murphysboro, Sofia Wood and Naomi Wood, both of Villa Rica, GA, Brooks Lee and Weston Lee, both of Murphysboro, and Kash Dagner of Sato; one sister Doris Winget of Murphysboro, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers Joe Piquard and Charlie Piquard, three sisters Pauline Wright, Katherine Carroll, and Anna Marie Fenton, and his parents. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 2, 2017, at St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Murphysboro, with Rev. Kim Magwire and Pastor. P. K. Sunny officiating and burial at Pate Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Pettett Funeral Home and from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the church.
