Viola Milton

Viola (Hawk) Milton, 92, of Murphysboro, passed away at 6:22 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at Manor Court of Carbondale. Viola was born on December 29, 1924, in Makanda, Illinois, to Jake Hawk and Sula Cleo (Cooper) Hawk. She married Cletus M. Milton on March 1, 1946, in Murphysboro, and he preceded her in death on February 4, 1984. Viola was a homemaker and she enjoyed taking care of her yard and tending to her flowers. Mrs. Milton was a member of Dutch Ridge Baptist Church in Pomona. Viola is survived by one son and daughter in law Dennis and Ruth Milton of DeSoto, four grandchildren Jordan Milton, Olivia Milton, Jake Hunziker, and Deeanna Delp, one great granddaughter, and one sister Rachel Sanders of Florida. She was preceded in death by one son Allen Milton, two brothers, two sisters, and her parents. Gravesite services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Evergreen Cemetery at Makanda.
