<p>Jerry Minton, 73, of Fairview Heights, IL, born, September 24, 1945 passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at his residence. </p><p><br></p><p>Jerry rarely missed an episode of his favorite television shows, NCIS and Law and Order. He enjoyed working his business which was hunting for his treasures of aluminum and brass in order to recycle them. He enjoyed fishing and cars. Jerry was extremely knowledgeable about cars. Most of the time you could find Jerry listening to Jazz music on the radio, which was his favorite music. He adored his family and was so loved by them in return.</p><p><br></p><p>He was preceded in death by his parents Rupert and Lucille Minton, nee Holifield; brothers, Michael Minton and Patrick Minton and sister, Jacqueline Wilson. </p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his sister, Doyce Thorpe-Fiore, many nieces and nephews and his beloved cat, whom he called “Cat”. Cat misses him dearly. </p><p><br></p><p>In honor of Jerry, memorials may be made to Vitas Hospice at https://vitascommunityconnection.org/community-connection.org Condolences may be extended to the family online at www.schildknechtfh.com.</p><p><br></p><p>Pursuant to the family’s request, cremation will be held with no services to follow.</p><p><br></p><p>Arrangements have been entrusted to Schildknecht Funeral Home.</p>
