Jill Renee Carroll, 39, of O’Fallon, IL, born July 29, 1979 in Belleville, IL passed away on Friday, January 18, 2019.

Jill attended O’Fallon Township High School before enrolling in Southwestern Illinois College where she completed her associate’s degree. Jill then continued her studies at Northern Illinois University where she worked towards her bachelor’s degree in Political Science.

Jill was very compassionate about animals and volunteered many hours at the Highland Animal Shelter. She loved history, especially the World War II era. Jill had many conversations and spent an enormous amount of time with her grandfather, Bernard Patzer, learning every detail about his days as a young Marine soldier during the war.

Jill was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bernard Patzer, John E. Carroll, and Patricia A. Carroll.

Jill is survived by her parents, John E. Carroll Jr. and Debra J. Carroll nee Patzer; son, James Michael McWilliams; grandmother, Charlotte E. Patzer; siblings, Rachel L. (William) Richter, Shannon L. Carroll, and Lindsey M. (Dion) Bellamy; nieces, Makayla M. Mays, Alexa C. Richter, and Madisyn J. Carroll; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 25, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Schildknecht Funeral Home, 301 South Lincoln Avenue, O'Fallon, IL 62269.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Doug Munton and Rev. Skip Leininger officiating.

Burial will follow at O’Fallon City Cemetery.
