<p>Virginia Lee “Dee” Gorazd nee Barger, 86, of O’Fallon, IL, born on March 4, 1932, in East St. Louis, IL was a devoted and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She passed in her sleep on Dec 10, 2018 at home in the company of her family.</p><p><br></p><p>Dee was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, church choir, and “Yesterday’s Kids”. She loved to travel and attend her grandson’s hockey games, enjoyed visiting casinos in Las Vegas, NV, Tunica, MS and locally. She always enjoyed the comrade’ of family and friends and loved spending time at family functions and parties. Dee married her childhood sweetheart Harry and they celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary before his passing in 2012. She was a member of her east side high school alumni girls club, they met and enjoyed each other’s comfort regularly.</p><p>She is preceded by her parents Estel John and Cleva Fern (Wagoner) Barger, her husband Herman “Harry” Gorazd, sisters Delores (Oliver) Starks, Carol (Oak) Cummings, Judy Barger, brother/sister in-law Richard and Carol Gorazd.</p><p><br></p><p>She is survived daughter; Sandra (Wes) Dugan, son; Steve (Angela) Gorazd, five grandchildren; Jamie Robyn, Eric Higgerson, Stephan Gorazd, Alex Dugan and Matthew Gorazd, four great grandchildren; Wesley, Wilder, Noelani, and Wyatt. Her many nieces and nephews; Sue Obernuefemann, Peggy (Phillip) Schildknecht, Rich (Mary Beth) Gorazd, Mary Jo Frain, Jean (Keith) Hurst and Kimberly (Bob) Wells-Cherry. </p><p><br></p><p>Our sincere gratitude to Brightly Assisted Living and to Heartland Hospice who took such excellent care of her. She will be missed by all that knew her.</p><p>Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice www.heartlandhospice.com. Lincoln Ave. O'Fallon, IL 62269.</p><p><br></p><p>Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 625 St. Nicholas Drive, O’Fallon, IL 62269 on Friday December 14, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Msgr. William Hitpas officiating.</p><p><br></p><p>Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, IL.</p><p><br></p><p>Arrangements have been entrusted to Schildknecht Funeral Home.</p>

Virginia Lee “Dee” Gorazd nee Barger, 86, of O’Fallon, IL, born on March 4, 1932, in East St. Louis, IL was a devoted and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She passed in her sleep on Dec 10, 2018 at home in the company of her family.


Dee was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, church choir, and “Yesterday’s Kids”.
