Antanas ''Tony'' Navakas

Antanas “Tony” Navakas, age 89, died May 8, 2012. He leaves his wife of 58 years, Daphne, his sons Michael (Debbie), Victor (Pollie), daughter Regina (Bill) Franz, grandchildren Tracy, Sawyer, Sarah, Gretchen, Anthony and Cody. Born in Lithuania, he was a WWII Veteran. He moved to England after the war where he met and married Daphne. The family immigrated to the Chicago area in the late 1950’s. He was a master mechanic for local asphalt paving companies, retiring from K5 in 1988. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, cooking and vacationing with his family. Tony had a passion for gardening fruits and vegetables and was proud of his award-winning harvests. He took pride in creating solutions for what needed to be fixed. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him. Visitation Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until time of Funeral Service 7:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Lithuanian Roman Catholic Church of Lemont/BL Jurgis Matulaitis Mission, 14911-127th St., Lemont, IL 60439. Burial will be private.
