Ernest G. Coxhead Obituary

Ernest Coxhead, age 93, went home to his Savior on May 2, 2012. Survived by his beloved wife of 70 years Mary, nee Mowatt, and his four children Mary (Harry) Coyle, George (Bonnie) Coxhead, Grace (Gordon) Yost, and Joan (James) MacLelland. Cherished grandfather of 17. Dearest great-grandfather of 26. Ernest was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran who participated in the Normandy Invasion of 1944 as a member of the U.S. Navy Construction Battalion (Pharmacists Mate). He was a faithful member of Oak Forest Bible Chapel and Oak Lawn Bible Chapel for many years. Ernest was also a Lamplighter, ministering at Oak Forest Hospital for many years as well as a member of the South Side Choral Group for 15 years. Visitation Sunday, May 6, 2012 from 4-9 p.m. with the Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL. Private interment on Monday, May 7, 2012 at Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials to Emmaus Bible College, 2570 Asbury Rd., Dubuque, IA 52001 preferred.
