Gerard ''Jerry'' Simak

Gerard Anthony Simak, affectionately known to many as Jerry died suddenly on April 1, 2010. He was an avid sports fan who officiated many hockey games and traveled the country to follow NASCAR. Among his many joys in life was his annual fishing trip with his Dad, brothers, sons, nephews and friends. He loved animals especially Daisy, Duke, Topaz, Puffy and Snuggles and always found a home or a place in his heart for those who needed one. He was very proud of his rose garden and Christmas decorations. With that Simak smile and a Miller Lite in his hand he will be missed by his dear sons, Brandon and Shawn and their mother Linda. He is survived by his Mother Jeanne, nee Patzin. Gerard was the “baby” brother to Wally (Sandy), Rick (Eileen), Marybeth (Mark) Solomon, Tom, Martha Ann, David (Diana) and Julie (Tony) Rico. He was a fun, loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by many friends, too numerous to mention. Gerard was preceded in death by his Dad, Wally. Jerry was the loving companion of the late Alethea Kaiser. Be careful, Drive Safe, God Watch Over You, Remember to Be Nice. Love ya. Bye Bye. Visitation Tuesday, April 6, 2010 from 3-9PM. Funeral Wednesday, April 7, 2010 9:00AM from Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park to St. George Church, Tinley Park, IL. Mass 10:00AM.
