Lambert W. Wierenga, age 88, formerly of Palos Heights, passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2007, in Rochester, NY. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Henrietta, nee Dekker, and his sister, Alice (the late John) Orr. He is survived by his children, Edward (Wilma) Wierenga, the Rev. Glenda (Tom) Prins, and Bert (Mary Beth) Wierenga, his grandchildren, Christina Wierenga (Brent Kludt), Stephen Wierenga, Katherine and Mark Prins, and Mikel, Sarah, and Charlie Wierenga, his brother, Harold (Janet) Wierenga, and many nieces and nephews. He was a life-long member of Second Englewood Christian Reformed Church (later Kedvale Ave. CRC), where he served as a deacon and an elder. He also served as a board member for Chicago Christian High School. He attended Calvin College and graduated from Northwestern University. He was a WWII veteran, a past president of the Southside Real Estate Board, and past Director of the Chicago Real Estate Board. The family will receive visitors from 9:30-11:00 a.m. and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 24, 2007, at Colonial Chapel 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, Illinois 60462.
