Lorraine G. Panozzo Obituary

We, as children and grandchildren, miss our mother and grandmother. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers that continue to be expressed as we grieve our loss. We look forward to meeting you at the visitation and/or at the service. Lorraine, middle child of Egbert and Grace Beezhold along with sister Muriel and brother Jim, grew up in the Roseland neighborhood of Chicago, attended the Third Christian Reformed Church of Roseland and graduated from Roseland Christian Grade school. Mom was a beloved wife and mother. We are proud of her accomplishment as a registered nurse at Roseland Community Hospital for 30 years (1952-1982.) She was a graduate of the nursing school at Roseland Community in 1952 and was married to Geno, shortly after on September 17th that year. Mom and Dad were married for 43 years until Dad's passing in 1995. Mom was always involved in music ministry from the time of her teenage years at Chicago Christian High School as a member of the acapella choir. Lorraine sang a solo in Orchestra Hall as part of her high school career, as well as singing a solo in Red Rocks Theatre in Colorado. Her music service continued as she was part of the church choir until the time of her recent illness. Lorraine served on the board of directors of the Rest Haven Auxiliary. At Orland Park CRC, she was a Stephen Minister and served as president of the Seniors Group. Lorraine would also mention how she enjoyed her fun times working in the resale shop for Southwest Christian Schools. She really enjoyed coordinating reunions for her Roseland nursing class, as their friendship continued for many years. Also, she served on the reunion committee for her graduating class of Chicago Christian High School. What was really special about Lorraine was that she was a devoted friend. She treasured her friendships with neighbors, church folks, coworkers, classmates and everyone else she encountered. She is our example of what friendship means.
