Nelle Van Dyke, nee Meyer, age 96, beloved wife of the late Elko H. Loving mother of DeanAuralee (Kenneth) Kredit. Dear grandmother of Karen (Tim) Schaid, Lois (Dale) Leister, Laura (Michael) Meyer, and Roger (Nikolyn) Kredit. Cherished great-grandmother of Ken, Phil, and Kimberly Schaid; Rachael and Jennifer Meyer; Claire, Isaac, Jeremiah, and Precious Kredit. Fond sister of Ed (Jeanette) Meyer, William (Zelma) Meyer, Clara Pomella, Nettie Auwema, and Joan Klein. Dearest sister-in-law of Jean Meyer. Nelle was the oldest child in the William Meyer family. After completing school in Cicero, Nelle worked for Marshall Fields. She graduated from Moody Bible Institute. Nelle worked for Sidley and Austin as a legal secretary for 45 years. She married Elko H. Van Dyke Dec. 23, 1959. They celebrated 40 years living in Beverly and Oak Forest, IL. Nelle was an active member of Kedvale CRC. She volunteered at Oak Forest Hospital for 10 years after retirement. She was secretary for Gideons Auxiliary. After several falls, her health failed, so in 2004 Nelle became a resident of Rest Haven Central in Palos Heights. Visitation Saturday, September 18, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service 12:00 Noon at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL.
