Paul J. Niquette Obituary

Paul J. Niquette, 77, passed away on December 18, 2010 in Tucson, Arizona where he had spent his retirement years. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 31, 1932. He was preceded in death by his mother, Josephine B. Niquette, nee Blum. He graduated from Mount Carmel High School in 1950 and received his degree in Metallurgy from Illinois Institute of Technology in 1954. Paul spent his working career at U.S. Steel and Interlake Steel from where he retired in 1993 as Chief Metallurgist. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Elizabeth Ann "Betty", nee Ballinger, and his four children: Paul Niquette, Nancy (George) Hock, Julie (David) Pfister, and Barbara Niquette along with nine grandchildren: George, Janet, Daniel, Michelle, Chelsea, Nathaniel, Anthony, Nicholas and Jessica. He is also survived by his brother Callis (Joan) Niquette of Indianapolis, IN. Paul and his wife, Betty, were enthusiastic duplicate bridge players. He had a passion for keeping in touch with family and friends with cards and letters filled with much detail. Visitation Monday, December 27, 2010 from 3-9 p.m. Funeral Tuesday, December 28, 2010, 9:15 am from Colonial Chapel 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL to St. Julie Billiart Church, 7399 W. 159th Street, Tinley Park, IL.
