Ruth V. Biggs, age 98, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 1, 2021 at her home in Palos Heights, IL. Ruth was born on September 11, 1922 in Toledo, Ohio to Emil and Marie Magdalene (Hess) Classen. She was preceded in death by her parents and in 2012 by her husband, Bill. Bill and Ruth were married September 28, 1944 and were best of friends. They moved from Toledo to Columbus, Ohio in 1959. They enjoyed life together, from daily routines and simple trips, to wintering in Florida and touring Europe. They established and treasured many life-long friendships made at each stage of their life. Ruth had a long career with Ohio Bell, serving in many roles from accounting to management. Ruth was an accomplished poet and writer, writing poems into her mid-90s. She had a quick-witted humor and was a masterful wordsmith. In 2014, Ruth moved to the Chicago area with Phil and Brenda Kizzee. Ruth was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of the Church of the Nazarene and Christian Missionary and Alliance congregations both in Toledo and Columbus. She is survived by her sister-in-law Ruth Beach and many treasured friends. Ruth will be interred at Kingwood Memorial Park Mausoleum, Lewis Center, OH.
