Carol Jane Szatkowski, 68, of Bloomington passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. Born, July 27, 1951 in Bloomington, she was the daughter of the late, Winfred “Doc” and Mildred “Mid” (Trisler) Szatkowski. Carol was a member of North Central Church of Christ. She graduated from Edgewood High School, and received an associate degree from Ivy Tech in accounting, and was a graduate of Indiana University, and completed the Monroe County Substitute Teaching Program. Over the years, Carol held jobs at Indiana University, Stone Belt, and various places around Bloomington. Meeting people and making new friends was how Carol excelled. Many Bloomington residents met Carol thru her “bell ringing” for Salvation Army. We want the people of Bloomington to know the little gray-haired lady, ringing her bell in front of Kroger, Sam’s Club, etc., at Christmas time is now in the loving arms of Jesus, all warm and comfortable, without pain, enclosed in His Love. Survivors include one brother, David Szatkowski of Bloomington, and four nephews, Chris Cooley of Chicago, IL; Joel Cooley of Georgia, Ron Szatkowski of Bloomington and Roger Szatkowski of Ellettsville. She was preceded in death by her sister, Norma J. Cooley, and nephew, David Randall Szatkowski. The family will receive friends 9:30-10:30am Saturday, August 15, 2020 at North Central Church of Christ with a memorial service at 10:30am.
