Effie A. (Henderson) Grubb, age 87, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away at her residence on November 23, 2016. Effie was born in Bloomington on July 4, 1929, the daughter of John and Mary Henderson. She was married to Holbert Grubb and the two of them had 13 healthy children. She enjoyed sewing, crossword puzzles, and arts and crafts. Most of all, she loved her dog, Snickers. Effie is survived by her children, Wanda Mathis, Bob and Linda Grubb, Dorie, Mary, Jack, and Harold Grubb, Cathy Arwine and Virgil Harden, Janet and Wayne Harden, Loretta Ruble, and Peggy and Mike Harden, a brother, Harry Henderson, several grandkids, and her dog, Snickers. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sons, Donald, John, and Hobie Grubb, four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one brother, and two sisters. Visitation for Effie will be held at 11:00 am until 12:00 pm on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third Street, Bloomington, Indiana 47401. A graveside service will be at 1:00 pm at Valhalla Memory Gardens in Bloomington on Thursday, December 1, 2016.
