Melanie Kay Silvers, 66, of Bloomington passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. Born, May 10, 1953 in Bloomington, she was the daughter of William and Carolyn (Humphrey) Silvers. Melanie was employed at RCA for many years, and later was a dispatcher and driver for Rural Transit in Monroe and surrounding counties. She was a loving mother, sister, and aunt who enjoyed playing softball and spending time with her family and friends. Melanie was a faithful Christian member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, Chris Silvers, two brothers, Dan Silvers (Terry), and Scott Silvers (Jeannie), and close friend, Frances Mosley all of Bloomington. She is also survived by three nephews, Chad Silvers, Curtis Silvers, and Ryley Silvers, two nieces Heather Hern, and Carolyn Silvers two great-nieces, Kaydence and Harley Silvers, and great-nephew, Josh Hern. Melanie was preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn (Humphrey) Silvers (2003), and her grandparents, Curtis and Inez Humphrey, and Cecil and Hazel Silvers. A memorial service will be 1:00pm Monday, January 27, 2020 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 3900 S. Snoddy Rd. Bloomington, IN 47401. Pastor Richard Borden will preside. The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard is handling arrangements.
