Obituary for Dana Rose Hamilton Simpson

Dana Rose Hamilton Simpson, 87, passed away peacefully February 19, 2012. She was born July 4, 1924, in Vincennes, Indiana, and was preceded in death by parents Dana Mae and Donald C. Hamilton and four brothers, Winfield, Dorman, Donald G., and Harry.
Rose was musically talented and a regular soloist in her church in Vincennes growing up. She went on to have a successful professional singing career during and after the World War II era.
She graduated from Arsenal Technical High School, Indianapolis, in 1942, where she was vice-president of her graduating class and voted Cannon Queen.
Rose was a joyful and exceptionally giving person who will be greatly missed by family and friends. She retired from Fort Benjamin Harrison in 1979 after 20 years of dedicated service.
She is survived by son C. Allan Simpson of Houston, Texas; daughter Christi Simpson of Noblesville, Indiana; grandson Ross (Beth) Simpson; granddaughter Anne Simpson; and two great-granddaughters, Kelsey and Annabel.
A Private Memorial Service will be held by the family.
