Obituary for Frances Kauffman

Frances "Anne" Kauffman 83, a resident of Fort Myers, FL, formerly of Indianapolis, went to be with the Lord her Savior on March 24, 2009 after a formidable battle with ALS. She was a graduate of Shortridge High School and went on to win a scholarship to Central Business College. She was a buyer for L.S. Ayres, active in Youth for Christ, and successful interior designer. She is survived by her husband, Russell; her immediate family, daughter, Suzanne (Frank) Perry, son, Dr. Brent (Teri) Burke; daughter, Cindy (Mark) Goldsmith; eight grandchildren and niece, Rita (Steve) Smith. She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Carden and her father, James Hymer. She is also survived by her 5 step-children, Reese Kauffman, Nerus McEwen, Jill John, Terri Politan, Kimber Kauffman, and families. For the past 25 years Anne worked by her husband's side ministering to the members of the Church at Siesta Bay in Fort Myers, FL. Desiring no recognition for herself and never seeking the lime light, Anne was truly a humble servant of the Cross of Christ. She will always be incredibly loved, revered, and held in the highest esteem by her family and everyone who had the honor to call her "friend." Graveside services will be held April 18, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at Oaklawn Memorial Garden. Any remembrance in Anne's honor may be donated to Good News Mission, 2716 E. Washington St., Indpls., IN.
