Obituary for Henry J. Dreher

Henry J. Dreher, 83, Carmel, Indiana, passed away December 6, 2009 surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 6, 1926 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Philip H. and Mary A. (Kerr) Dreher. He graduated from David B. Oliver High School on the North Side of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After serving his country in the United States Army Signal Corps during World War II, he went on to obtain a business degree from Robert Morris Business School. Henry retired in 1982 after a successful career in business and finance with Armco Steel Corporation. At that time he was president and CEO of the Finance Leasing Division. Throughout his life he was a faithful and active member of the Episcopal Church serving on both the vestry and finance committee.
Henry is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Kathleen P. Dreher; children, Cynthia K. McCune (John) of Carmel, IN , Pamela J. Pottenger of Tipton, IN, Jennifer L. Patrick (Dan) of Beacon, NY, Kimberly S. Dreher of Chicago, IL, James P. Dreher (Jessica) of Carmel, IN, grandchildren, David McCune, Beth McCune Kerkhoff (Adam), Sarah McCune Fowler (Patrick), Stephen McCune, Cecilee Pottenger Walker (Jeffrey), Erin Patrick Glasspatrick (Bryan), Samuel Dreher, Helena Dreher; great grandchild, Noah Walker; sister Mary Jane Fitzpatrick.
Along with his parents, a sister Marjorie Dreher preceded him in death.
The family will celebrate his life with a private memorial service at the Church of the Nativity.
