Obituary for James J. Lynch

James J. Lynch, 75, passed away at his home on Sept. 7, 2005.
He was born Oct. 16, 1929 in Queens, NY to Charles and Anne Lynch. He attended St. John’s University in Brooklyn. During college he enlisted in the Army. One of his proudest military memories was serving as honor guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier at Arlington Cemetery while stationed at Ft. Myer, Virginia. He also served honorably in Korea with the third infantry division.
Upon returning home, he worked for John Hancock insurance company, retiring in 1989 in Indianapolis as District Manager after 35 years with the company.
He was an enthusiastic and dedicated New York Yankees fan.
Jim cared very much about the importance of family. He was a loving uncle and great uncle, and he cherished the role of Godfather to his godchildren. He forged a lifelong friendship to George Davis, commencing during the Korean War period, and lasting up to his final days, with George serving as his executor.

Nephew Raymond Higbee
Nephew William Higbee
Niece Patricia Jordan
Nephew Michael Higbee
…all of New York,
and several beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Richard Lynch, and sister Patsy Lynch.
Visitation will be held on Sun, Sept 11. 2005 from 3-7:00 PM at Harry Moore Family Mortuary, Allisonville Road Chapel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, Sept 12 at 10:00 AM at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 7200 Sarto Drive, with burial to follow at Oaklawn Memory Gardens beside his son Richard Lynch.
