Nancy was called home to the place God had prepared for her on Sunday July 12, 2009.
Nancy Irene Puig was born June 18, 1942 in Houstonville, Kentucky to Major and Sadie Lucas. She married Jose Puig and were blessed with a son, Joe.
Most recently Nancy was an assistant dietician, helping to take care of nursing home residents.
She was also a member of Arlington Heights Baptist Church.
Jose preceded her in death, and she is survived by her son, grandchildren, and many dear friends.
She will be laid to rest with her husband at Washington Park East Cemetery.
She was a loving mother, Wife, grandmother, and sister and most importantly a Christian who loved God and professed her faith early in Life. She posed a heart of giving, always willing to help her friends and family; and even complete strangers in anyway possible.
Nancy attended Arlington Heights Baptist Church and so enjoyed her church family; she loved working in the kitchen for special events. Nancy enjoyed seeing the changes in the children of the church as they grew older before her.
As you reflect on Nancy's life do not so with sorrow in your heart, but rather hold a smile on your face as you have received a blessing, the blessing of knowing in a personal way one of God's children, one who did not feel sorry for herself or her modest beginnings in Kentucky, but rather one who had a sense of pride in her heritage.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Jose L. Puig, those left to hold her memory are: her son, Daughter in law, three grandchildren, sister, brother and nephews.
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Arlington Heights Baptist Church in her name.
