Served in New York Army National Guard in Buffalo, New York, Armored tank battalion 1/SGT company A. Served in the New York Guard-Brigade Rank of CW03. Headquarter as a personnel officer in Buffalo, New York. Attended Army Service Schools, Signal Corps Fort Monmouth, New Jersey Message Center. 44th Division Signal School Message Center Fort Dix, New Jersey. 1/SGT's Administration School Fort Lewis Washington, Western Defense Command. Retired as a Journey man Machinist, the Olin Corporation Niagara Works, 35 years of service, Niagara Falls, New York. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Arthur Kerr and Lena May (MacWilliam) Kerr, two brothers William Kerr and Howard Kerr, two step-brothers Ellsworth and Stanley Taft Blair. Survived by a son Vernon Andrew Kerr and family of Indianapolis, Indiana, several cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and many friends. Burial will be at Marion National Cemetery with military honors.
