Obituary for William Thomas Wooden

William Thomas Wooden, 81, of Carmel, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2008 at his residence. He was born September 28, 1926 in Indianapolis to Raymond and Lettie (Miller) Wooden. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He was an active member of Hope Church and the Model A Club. He worked for Robert's Dairy, was the operations manager at L.S. Ayres for 30 years, and then Sears Hardware.
William is survived by his wife of 60 years, Wilma Jean (Faulk) Wooden; three sons Steven W. (Nancy) Wooden, Thomas M. (Cyndie) Wooden, Keith A. (Delaine) Wooden; a daughter, Jean M. (Steve) Wyatt; thirteen grandchildren, Kelly (Steve) Marusich, Jessie Wooden, Matthew (Leah) Wooden, Seth (Jill Smith) Wertz, Kim (Shaun) Saunders, Caroline Wyatt, Cassandra (Nick) Robison, Whitney Wooden, Karri Barkdull, Scott Wyatt, Keaton Wooden, Beau Wyatt, Elizabeth Wyatt; nine great-grandchildren, Gavin, Jackson, Kaden, Eli, Maddie, Ellie, Savannah, Ben, Logan; extended grandchildren, Carl and Gene Denham, Amie and Michael Cox, April and Walden; eight extended great-grandchildren, Ashleigh, Emily, Wesley, Olivia, Regan, Riley, Tori, Jaida; a sister, Lucy (Paul) Price; sister-in-law, Helga Wooden; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; step-mother, Tina Wooden; brother, Raymond Wooden; sister, Betty Moore; and brother-in-law, Jack Moore.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hope Church C&MA, 2500 E. 98th St, Indianapolis, IN. Funeral Service will be at Hope Church at 11:00 am on Monday, May 19. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to SEND International, PO Box 513, Farmington, MI 48332, Project, Kiev Theological Seminary Building.
