James Brierly

James E. Brierly, age 82, of Hanover, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Thornton Terrace Health Campus in Hanover, Indiana. Born September 20, 1934 in Oldham County, Kentucky, he was the son of Luke Dye and Mary Frances Highlander Brierly. On January 1, 1956, he was united in marriage to Ruby Holcomb. He retired from Williamson Heater after 34 years of service and spent his time throwing horseshoes, fishing, camping, horseback riding and enjoying life. He will be sadly missed by his daughters: Carolyn Mack of Milton, Marie Vogt of Sacramento, CA, Rita Kinman of Madison, Linda Boston of Madison, Leola Brierly of Madison, Juanita Brandum of Hanover, her son, James Brierly of Madison; 14 grandchildren; and several great and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruby Brierly; son, Edward Elbert; sisters: Mildred, Jessie, Myrtle, Rachel, and Minnie; brothers Howard and Warren; and three grandchildren: Marty Mack, Julie Boston, and Roy Kinman. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Main Street Chapel, 423 West Main Street, Madison, Indiana with interment to follow in Grandview Memorial Gardens. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Main Street Chapel from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, January 31, 2017, and from 12:00 PM until time of service on Wednesday.
