Norma B. Reed

Norma B. Reed, age 93, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Franciscan Hospice House in Indianapolis. Born June 29, 1924 in Madison, she was the daughter of Roy L. and Mabel (Cole) Gray. Mrs. Reed was a 1942 graduate of Madison High School. She worked as the cafeteria manager for Eggleston Elementary School for about twenty years. Earlier, she worked as a cashier for the former A&P Grocery and was a homemaker. She was a former member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of Walnut Street Fire Department #4, and moved to Indianapolis five years ago. On April 4, 1946, she was united in marriage to Paul K. Reed in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She will be sadly missed by two sons and daughters-in-law: Ken and Linda Reed of New Albany, Indiana, and John and Barbara Reed of Indianapolis; four grandchildren: Emily McBride, Benjamin Reed, Jacob Reed and Justin Reed; and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul K. Reed on October 31, 1994; two brothers: Bob Gray and Bill Gray; and one grandson, Shaun Reed in 2013. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, March 23, 2018 at Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Main Street Chapel, 423 West Main Street in Downtown Madison, with interment to follow in Grandview Memorial Gardens. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Main Street Chapel from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM Friday, March 23, 2018. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the March of Dimes or the American Cancer Society. Contributions may be made at any of the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service locations.
