R. Watson Burgess Obituary

R. Watson Burgess, age 80, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison. He was born on March 12, 1937 in Owen County, Kentucky, the son of Raymond Luther "Buck" and Mary (Roland) Burgess. Mr. Burgess graduated from Carroll County High School, and was a veteran of the US Army. He retired after thirty-nine years of service from M&T Chemicals in Carrollton as a raw material buyer. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church near Chelsea, Indiana, an avid golfer, loved to sail and was known for his drawing of horses. In May 1988, he married Pamela (Fornash) in Tennessee. He will be sadly missed by his wife; two daughters: Amanda Constant and her husband, Mike of Hanover, Indiana, and Chelsey Harlow of Madison; two sons: Jeramy Harlow of Sparta, Kentucky and Dewey Takacy of Charlestown, Indiana; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Chad Harlow in 2000; one grandson, Trent Harlow in 2001; one brother, Dennis; and five sisters: Ardith, Millie, Erlene, Rachel and Alice. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, June 19, 2017 at Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, 117 Holt Drive, with interment to follow in Fairmount Cemetery. Friends and family may call at Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, from 4 to 8 PM Sunday, June 18, and from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Monday. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association. Contributions may be made at any of the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service locations.
