Mrs. Betty Elzina (Birgel) Pike, age 89, of Vevay, Indiana, passed away on Friday, March 5, 2021, at her residence. Betty was born on April 12, 1931 in Hamilton, Ohio to the parents of, Marion Edgar and Elva S. (Stevenson) Birgel. She received her GED from Seven Mile High School in Seven Mile, Ohio. Betty was united in marriage to James Edward Pike and they shared several years of marriage together until he passed away on August 8, 1997. Betty was employed in central supply for Fort Hamilton Hospital retiring after 30+ years of service. Betty loved her kids, her grandchildren and her dog, Wiggles. Betty is survived by her daughter, Marian Grosse of Vevay, IN; her step-daughters, Cindy of Ohio and Terri of Hamilton, OH and her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion Edgar and Elva S. (Stevenson) Birgel; her son, Sonny Napper; her sister, Mary Wells and her brother, William Birgel. Betty's wishes were for her body to be donated to science and to make a lasting and meaningful contribution to medical science.
