Janice Lee (Buckmeier) Kennedy, the daughter of Robert and Esther (Post) Buckmeier was born October 9, 1938 and raised on a farm north of Fairmont, Minnesota. Janice passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at the Fairmont Medical Center in Fairmont, Minnesota, at the age of 78.

She received her education in the Northrop schools, graduating from Fairmont High School in 1956.

On August 10, 1957 she was united in marriage to James E Kennedy. Following their marriage the couple lived and farmed southeast of Armstrong, IA. Janice raised her children and then cooked at Heritage Home in Bancroft, IA for many years. For hobbies she enjoyed baking, dancing, playing cards (especially Bridge) and quilting. In fact, all of her grandchildren have received a handmade quilt for graduation. Janice's true passion was spending time with her family and friends.

Janice was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, volunteering at church activities and as a Circle member.

Janice's memory is cherished and survived by her children; John (Susan) Kennedy, Lino Lakes, Minnesota; Joanne (Kevin) Bean, Lake City, Iowa; Joseph (Krista) Kennedy, Andover, Minnesota; Son-in-law; Gary Nelson, Lake Mills, Iowa. Grandchildren; Lisa Nelson, Taylor Nelson, Matt Kennedy, Mike (Erin) Kennedy, Justin (Alisha) Bean, Megan (Braden) Hicks, Kilah Kennedy, Collin Kennedy. Great-grandchildren; Easton Kennedy, Emmett Kennedy and Claire Bean. Brothers; Richard Buckmeier, Ronald (Judy) Buckmeier and many nieces and nephews.
