Lois Lenox

Lois Arlene (Schaper) Lenox, the daughter of Otto and Ruby (Swartz) Schaper was born April 3, 1925, in Estherville, Iowa. Lois passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at the Good Samaritan Society in Estherville at the age of 92.

She received her education in the Estherville Schools graduating from Estherville High School in 1942. Lois then attended Minneapolis Business college.

On April 26, 1946, she was united in marriage to Harold Lenox at her parents’ home.

After their marriage, the couple farmed in the Gruver – Dolliver area. Lois also worked as a teller/bookkeeper at Emmet County State Bank for four years. Harold passed away October 10, 1990.

Lois was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Estherville and a member of the Midway Country Club.

Left to cherish Lois’s memory are her two daughters; Kathy (Steven) Mitchell of Fargo, North Dakota and Evalee (Kevin) Strenge of Estherville; grandchildren, Brooke (Kris) Jerke, Austin Strenge, Alex (Mikaela) Mitchell and Caitlin Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Aubrie and Tyler Strenge and Eleanor Jerke and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Lois in death are her parents; husband, Harold; and sisters, Delores May and Joanne Arthur.
