Steven Todd Lange, the son of Steve and Jan (Erickson) Lange, was born on February 14, 1967, in Estherville, Iowa. He was the biggest valentine present they had ever received weighing 10 pounds, 14 ounces. He was the proud father of two sons, Jacobi Steven Lange and Jeremy Christian Lange, both of Urbandale IA.

Steven was raised and educated in Estherville and graduated from Estherville High School in 1985. He furthered his education at American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City and at the University of Minnesota – Mankato from which he received master’s degree in fine arts. High school and college friends shared with us his fine fun loving character, listening skills, and genuine care for others. From early childhood, Steven was a talented vocalist and actor who inspired others with his original thinking and positivity.
On May 26th, 1990 Steven was united in marriage to Andrea Garrison at United Methodist Church in Estherville. They moved to Kansas City where they pursed their performing arts talents. Steven was united in marriage to Joe Warburton of Milford, Iowa, on January 28, 2014, at Los Angeles, California. They pursued a joint dream of moving where it was warm and starting new careers.
Steven loved to shop but even more so loved to find a good bargain. He loved to father his children and tended to father everyone else around him. He always found a way to make an impact on any situation. Also, he loved bodybuilding and helping others improve their physicality.

He was a member of United Methodist Church in Estherville. He once owned a profitable tanning salon/gym in Kansas City. In recent years, Steven bought and flipped real estate in Michigan, Florida and California with his husband, Joe. He was also pursuing his interest in music, theater and writing. He had made appearances in both TV and commercials.

Steven is survived by his husband, Joe Warburton, and his sons, Jacobi and Jeremy. Also surviving are his parents, Steve and Jan Lange, brother-in-law Doug Daub, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He had a special place in his heart for Stacy’s three children, Collin, Sarah and Nick.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Stacy Daub, his grandparents, Harold and Ethel Lange and Wally and Mary Erickson. Steven succumbed to a massive heart attack and passed away on June 14, 2017, at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 50 years.

He always pursued his dream and encouraged others to do the same. Steven left us with the following advice from C. F. Lewis: “You are never too old to set another goal or dream a new dream.”
