Skylar Isreal Beatty

Skylar I. Beatty, 43, of Aurora, IA passed away after a long battle with cancer, on April 21, 2021 at the Buchanan County Health Center in Independence, IA. Skylar was born on June 7, 1977 in New Hampton, IA the son of Alwyn U. and Jacqueline R. (Winter) Beatty. He was a 1996 graduate of Independence High School. Skylar enjoyed working and shortly after graduating high school he began working at Triangle Plastics in Independence. He met the love of his life while working at Birch Cabinets in Jesup, IA in 2003. On May 31, 2008 he married Debra K. Duffey at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. They made their home on an acreage in rural Aurora, IA. Soon after they made their home in Aurora. He enjoyed working so much in 2004 he got a job building houses at All American Homes in Dyersville, IA. In 2009 Skylar began working at East Penn as a fork truck operator In 2019, Skylar had to stop working due to his fight with cancer. Skylar enjoyed gardening and providing food for his family. He often had five different plots of sweet corn growing on the acreage. He was known as a hard worker and stayed busy spending countless hours remodeling their home. Skylar loved working on his cars and taught their children everything he knew about automotive repair. He is survived by his wife, Debra Beatty, Aurora, IA, his parents, Alwyn and Jacqueline Beatty, West Gate, IA, three sons, Raymond (Ashley) Dosland, Lost Nation, IA, Lane (Samantha Amdahl) Dosland, Aurora, IA, and Nathaniel Dosland, Aurora, IA, three grandchildren, Thane and Madelyn Bayles, and one on the way, three brothers, Travis (Jen) Beatty, Hazelton, IA, Aaron (Trina) Beatty, Manona, IA, and Jeremy (Nicole) Beatty, Quasqueton, IA, many nieces and nephews, and his beloved sidekick Nala Mae, his dog. Skylar is preceded in death by two sisters, Heather and Leelanee Beatty. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 PM until 5 PM on Saturday April 24, 2021 in the Community Room of the Reiff Family Center – Funeral Home & Crematory in Independence, IA.
